Game of Blessings

Proverbs 22:9

Have you met any financially blessed generous people? Have you met a person who gives as if he can’t run out of money, someone who gives as if it’s a game? I can imagine a game called the Game of Blessings. The goal of the game would be to give away all of your resources. In this type of game players would be rewarded with even greater wealth every time that they gave away wealth. This game would build excitement as players gleefully continued to fund projects with large sums of money and the only way to win the game would be through a collaborative effort which resulted in the entire world being fully funded and lacking nothing. This could be the next version of monopoly! Instead of creating a board game, let’s apply the wisdom character key of generosity to a real life game of blessings.

The generous will themselves be blessed,

for they share their food with the poor (Proverbs 22:9).

Some of you are blessed financially and are able to share food or other financial resources with others. Play that type of generosity blessings game. Others of you may not have the financial resources to give as if you can’t run out of money, but you may have other areas in which you can play the giving game. Perhaps the joy of the Lord overflows in your life. Share joy with the poor in spirit! Give away smiles as if you were filming for a toothpaste commercial! God may have blessed you with the gift of encouragement. Exhaust it; write notes, send text messages, or make phone calls to encourage the downtrodden heart. Whatever God has blessed you with, give it away to others. Start playing the game of blessings today!

Wonderful reminder! Sometimes I find myself discouraged because I would LOVE to bless people financially when I see their need, but that is not the season our family is in right now with our finances. It's so encouraging to remember God is not limited to that kind of giving and we can be generous in other ways that will honor Him! And Pastor Blanchard, my Dad often says the very same thing..."you can't out give God"...that made me smile.

You’ve described generosity as easy and fun...it really is. And remember you can’t out give God.
